Grant Thornton even closer to its French-speaking clients thanks to a new office in Liège

They have opened their 3rd office in Wallonia, the 7th overall in Belgium

Grant Thornton Belgium announces the opening of its new office in Liège. Since 1 June, seven audit experts have moved into a brand new building near Liège airport. Grant Thornton will further expand its team in Liège to provide local companies with a comprehensive service, with expertise in audit, accountancy, tax & legal and advisory.

Since 1 June, 7 Liège employees of Grant Thornton's audit department have moved into rue du Fort 3 in Grâce-Hollogne, in the brand new l'Escale office complex. New employees specialising in tax and accountancy will soon join them to complete Grant Thornton's range of services in the region.

A third office in Wallonia providing local service

Grant Thornton was already present in Wallonia with offices in Jumet and Tournai, but is now also present in Liège. The audit and consultancy firm, which employs more than 250 experts in Belgium, now has a seventh branch, after Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Jumet, Tournai and Turnhout.

“We are opening a new office in Liège, with employees close to French-speaking clients to better serve them. This initiative is part of our efforts to strengthen our local presence and provide an even better personal and responsive service. By being closer to our customers, we will be able to better understand their specific needs, provide customised solutions more quickly and build a lasting relationship of trust,” explains Aman Kuderbux, partner at Grant Thornton and the person responsible for the project in Liège.

As part of its geographical diversification strategy, Grant Thornton set its sights on Liège. This allows the company to further develop its activities in Wallonia and at the same time offer a local service to its customers.

Aman Kuderbux explains: “The economic dynamism and the easily accessible location of Liège proved to be important assets to expand our activities and offer a local service. It is also an advantage for our employees from this region.”

The French-speaking market offers opportunities for Grant Thornton

In recent years, Grant Thornton's activities have grown significantly, especially in Liège. The audit and consultancy firm wants to strengthen its local presence and increase its market share by attracting new clients. Among its main customers, Grant Thornton in Liège includes companies active in the sectors of electricity and gas distribution, transport and logistics, industrial and commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, etc.

The new office in Liège has a capacity of 30 people. Grant Thornton plans to eventually recruit new employees to support its growth in Wallonia. According to Aman Kuderbux, two to three recruitments are planned next year. “We regularly participate in job fairs at HEC Liège (a Liège management school), where we already found several of our current employees.” he says.

Sustainability at the center of the new location

Grant Thornton has chosen L'Escale as the location for its new office in Liège, which offers an exceptional view of Liège Airport and the green Meuse Valley. It’s a new construction of three high-end office buildings equipped with the latest technologies.

This complex has housed companies since June 2023 and meets sustainability standards and ESG criteria. “Office sustainability is an important criterion for Grant Thornton. For more than a year, we have been using a sustainable development approach to improve the company's environmental performance,” confides Leslie Van den Branden, managing partner at Grant Thornton Belgium.
